|
When: Weekend between Sept. to Oct
2009. |
|
Where:
Tournament will probably be held in a warm weather city. We will be scouting out locations through early 2009. |
|
Who could Qualify: Players who have won
their respective season playoffs
in the various all major locations including all new 2009 locations that are able to run leagues. Players will start to qualify
for the Championship with the Winter 2008-2009 seasons. Over
200+ champions will qualify by the time the tourney will be run.
We will also have 20-40 'at large' openings for dedicated Tennis League Network players who didn't win a championship but want to attend the tourney.
These available spots will be determined by senority based upon legacy matches played with the organization. These spots will probably cost $100 to $150. |
|
Skill Levels: Men's Advanced 4.0,
Competitive 3.5, Skilled Divisions 3.0 & Women's Competitive
3.5 and Skilled Divisions 3.0. Men's Elite 4.5+, Women's
Advanced 4.0+ will only be run if we get enough of the
champions to commit to the event.
Doubles and Recreational
Divisions will not have a Championship run for them. |
Sample Weekend Program:
- Friday Evening: 1st set of matches
- Saturday Morning: Tournament tennis will take place
- Sat. evening: League sponsored Buffet
- Sunday Day: Tournaments will conclude by
3 PM.
|
|
Tournament Format:
Players will be grouped in mini-divisions of 4 players. A round-robin will be played using 8 pro set format.
Top two players from each mini-division will move onto a single elimination tourney. |
|
Travel expenses will be covered by the players
and not by Tennis League Network. We will look for National
sponsors to offset the majority of the costs and to
sweeten the prizes for the participants. |
|
Ultimate Goal:
The tennis should be quite exciting, the players should be
amp'd up for the tourney and if the sponsors arrive it
should be well worth the trip to Boston. We'll see
which city has the best tennis players.
