Match Notes
Fall match, cool night, didn't sweat like a summer heat match. Had some lighting issues on court 1 and 4 at this destination (Going to mention that to Raleigh 'somehow' I suppose) and throw in a change of court and back due to a league playoff match asked for our court and when done, we moved back. Light was an issue during end of first set and beginning of 2nd. Forgive the long windedness, like to chat/mentor tennis and for players to hear/see. 1st set was close nearly the whole way, I think we stayed one game away the entire time I think but did exchange whom was up. I held serve in the 'lighting issues court' to go 6-4. 2nd set was streaky, I was up 3-0, then Abhi clawed it back (he said he found the light referring going to the original court we started at with lights), found some serve in % to take lead 3-4 and broke me twice doing it. I grabbed the last 3 games of the 2nd set. Abhi is a deep all around player, posses good technique. Hits with good top spin semi-deep, can hit some forehands with winner/passing pace from baseline. Can hold a rally more than 4+ exchanges with heavy top spin and also slices from the backhand. Backhand mixed slice and single handed backhand, EXCELLENT defense and won't lose matches if someone attacks his backhand (I didn't much because I didn't want to move with his slices which the little I hit there were good enough to pick on something else :-). Achilles heel is the serve in % (he knows it, he said it, I'm typing it for full effect), twice on his ad point, 6 'straight' double faults to loose some key games in each set. Mind the score above and it's a different score/outcome! For me, best I've felt body wise since my first match. Something seemed hurt/sore/tweaked for the two match before and for several days going on a week+ after those matches :-/ so that was great that some tennis is doing me some bodily good. I'm struggling heavily with movement still, don't have mobility to serve and volley, and the first serve is still getting dusted off from years in the garage, lack of high shoulder stamina. On another note, we'll likely be playing again soon and trying to coordinate a weekend larger get together with some 10 point tie breakers/fast tennis as matches. Several folks have said they are in for a meet up on a weekend day. I'll bring a basket of balls for serves/net volley drills/down line drills/cross court drills/king of the court, queen of the court as we do have a couple ladies in the fall division. Maybe do that first as warm up and some folks can get in some matches to help qualify all at the same time for best use of meeting up. AND AND an excellent suggestion from Abhi was some 'liquids' after playing was for sure a good suggestion, I am FOR SURE bringing those to our next match! Until then, 'glass click'

Partner Program players:
If you met up to hit around you can submit a 1st set 1-1 tie.
* If match is tied at 1 set a piece, players can play a 10-pt. tie-breaker to determine the winner.
* If a tie-breaker is played, a 7-6 score should be entered for the winner of the set.
* If players are limited on court time, it's best to play the 10-game pro set.
* Matches ending in a tie should still be reported even though W/L records don't get updated. The league can update the result when the
* Retired Flag: A retired player starts the match, but can't finish due to various reasons. A Win and a Loss is given in this situation.
* If a player doesn't show up, please report it here. We have a 3-strike policy for constant offenders.
* If a player cancels a match within 4 hrs of the match, please report it here.
* Players can play and report 1 rematch against a player still in their skill level.
* Matches with a score of 6-1, 6-2 or less will be flagged by the administrator. If you get 3 flags in a season, you are probably in the wrong
division and most likely will be moved to a different level during the season.
Ultimate goal is to have fun close matches
